kindred-spirits-03The new Paranormal Reality TV Show “Kindred Spirits”, first announced the release by Destination America.

The show moved to TLC and will schedule to have its premiere in October 2016.

Kindred Spirits hosted by paranormal reality tv veterans Amy Bruni and Adan Berry. They both left SyFy’s Ghost Hunters in 2014.

A great aspect on the purpose of the show is that Amy Bruni and Adam Berry will help real families tormented by paranormal activity in their homes.

Kindred Spirits The Show

noun
plural noun: kindred spirits

a person whose interests or attitudes are similar to one’s own.

It was a common aspect from Ghost Hunters in the first season, but it will not focus only on the investigation.

In Kindred Spirits, the duo will investigate, capture paranormal evidence, guide the spirits into the light and bring closure to the family.

But not any family, the show focus on families who believe that their deceased family member is the ones responsible for paranormal activity in the house.

They believe to be the haunt, not only by a ghost but by their own late family member.

Each episode of Kindred Spirits introduces a new family that seeks help from Amy Bruni and Adan Berry.

Why I watch Paranormal Lockdown and you should too

Paranormal LockdownThe Destination America just announced that Paranormal Lockdown is coming back to the second season. The show will be airing in early 2017.

After watching the first episode it was disappointing, I carried high expectations to this new show.

Paranormal Lockdown came with a new approach to paranormal reality television series, with only Nick Groff and Katrina Weidman, also the company of Rob Saffi during daylight investigations, confine themselves for 72 straight hours in some interesting haunted locations.

Yes! By themselves in allegedly above normal haunted locations, with a huge in field experience and all sort of high-tech gadgets.

I decided to give the show another chance and watch all six episodes. Especially after the hype of social media surrounding the show and Destination America confirming the second season.

Paranormal Lockdown Team

Paranormal Lockdown teamHosted by Nick Groff is a veteran paranormal tv investigator. He co-hosted Ghost Adventures since its begun with the “Ghost Adventures: The Original Documentary”, which aired on the SciFi Channel in 2007.

The documentary served as a pilot for the Ghost Adventures television series that debuted in 2008 on Travel Channel. Groff was an Executive Producer, co-host, and investigator in seasons 1 to 10.

In another hand, Katrina Weidman co-hosted the Paranormal State, from the first episode to the end of the series on A&E.

To join them the cameraman, Rob Saffi. Rob stay with the team for only a part of their time on lockdown, most of the time during the day and evenings.

They have also some guests: from “Haunted Collector” John Zaffis; and former “Ghost Hunters”, Grant Wilson; Amy Bruni and Adam Berry (last two coming soon with their own paranormal tv series); and from “Ghost Stalkers” paranormal expert John E.L. Tenney;

Paranormal Lockdown First Season

  • Franklin Castle – Cleveland, Ohio

Paranormal Lockdown Halloween Special

30eastdrive - The Black Monk HouseThe show reached good ratings to the channel. So, Destination America decided to produce a Paranormal Lockdown Halloween Special, and the destination is not in America?!

They will be investigating the Black Monk House, allegedly the home of the most violent poltergeist activity in European history.

Black Monk House history

Located in Yorkshire, England, the Black Monk House is another ideal haunted site to John Zaffis joins the team.

Paranormal researchers claim that the Black Monk House is the most violent poltergeist activity place in Europe history.

Paranormal LockdownAlso, know as The Black Monk of Pontefract or The Pontefract Poltergeist because of a physical apparition of a hooded figure.

Shortly after the Pritchard family moved in, the alleged poltergeist type of haunting began.

Their young daughter, Diane, at the time with fourteen years old, became the main focus of the events. An unseen force threw Diane out of her bed and dragged up the stairs. Diane also presented hand-shaped bruises on her neck.

One night, while sleeping in bed, the Pritchard’s witnessed a black figure. It appeared to wear a dark cloaked with a large loose hood over its head, hovering over the bed.

The local press reported, at the time, but the paranormal events were not investigated properly at the time.

It took almost 10 years after the haunting stopped for an amateur historian get interested by the story. While researching for the Cluniac Monks of Pontefract he learned about it and became the first person to formally investigate.

Why should you watch Paranormal Lockdown

Paranormal Lockdown with Nick Groff and Katrina WeidmanBeside seen a couple of mistakes that most ghost hunting tv show makes, Paranormal Lockdown has unique qualities.

Starting by the two investigators, Nick and Katrina, has a lot experience, the additional of not ignoring the presence of the cameraman is great.

The locations are amazing, many of which have never before been seen on television, some being investigated for the first time ever.

The longer, Nick, Katrina and Robin stay, the more the paranormal activities can document or dismiss.

The show is good and has a lot of space for improvement, especially in pos-production and edition.

That is why I’m looking forward to October 28 to watch Paranormal Lockdown Halloween Special, and you should also.

Is Ghosts of Shepherdstown worth watching?

Ghosts of Shepherdstown on Destination America“Ghosts of Shepherdstown” is a new six-part television Paranormal reality Show release by Destination America aired Sunday night. In a community of 1,750 people, in West Virginia, almost everyone has experienced something they couldn’t explain, resulting in Shepherdstown’s five-man police department responding to a majority of 911 calls where the disturbances are paranormal, not criminal, in nature.

Police Chief Mike King decided to take bold action and call Nick Groff (Paranormal Lockdown and Ghost Adventure), Elizabeth Saint and Bill Hartley and for the first time a paranormal investigation team and a police department have joined forces to investigate strange happenings around the town.

The show’s interest in Shepherdstown came in 2014 when producers had seen a Smithsonian documentary featuring then police chief, Dave Ransom.

Since then, according to current police chief King, the number of unexplained emergency calls in Shepherdstown had spiked dramatically.

The locations have a long time history, with Shepherdstowns being the oldest town in West Virginia. The first episode already presents you with some of the history and the need to try to solve the case why the town has a high number of paranormal events.

Ghosts.of.Shepherdstown crewLead investigator Nick Groff is well know on the field and by paranormal reality show fans and he has Elizabeth Saint, a sensitive and Bill Hartley a tech guru in charge of equipment and reviewing evidence.

Unknown for the general public Elizabeth and Bill work together real good calm voices and reasonable arguments.

Produced by MAK Pictures the shows has the same flaws you have seen before in other paranormal shows, pretend filming crew is not there, short edition and that feeling of some scripted interviews with locals. The program was shot in 2015 Summer but it is not mentioned.

Ghosts.of.Shepherdstown reenactmentAlso some issues with the chronology let us think that it was fast investigations, when in reality they filmed for 12-hour shifts at some of the locations, inset dates and time would help viewers at home.

It is really good they get help from local historian, Dana Mitchell, with evidences to corroborate the findings.

They also call in psychic medium, Lorie Johnson, and there we also have problems seen in other shows, nothing to do with Mrs. Johnson, but why the investigators don’t use the equipment to validate the psychic findings? The same could be using surrounding Elizabeth senses.

“Ghosts of Shepherdstown” is one more hit by Destination America this year, just like “Ghost Brothers”, not a surprise it was the network’s #1 highest-rated and most-watched series debut ever, becoming the third consecutive paranormal series premiere of 2016 to break records for delivery of P2+ (663k) and HH (529k) on L+3 Day viewing following “Paranormal Lockdown” and “Ghost Brothers“. Among P25-54, the premiere ties the Friday, April 15 premiere of Destination America’s Ghost Brothers as the #1 highest-rated series debut in network history.
