Syfy Orders A New Season of Hit Reality Series “Fact or Faked” and GHI

Syfy has ordering additional episodes of three original reality shows.

The network said Friday it has renewed Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files for a second season and Ghost Hunters International for a third season. Plus, it has ordered 12 more half-hour episodes for the current season of Hollywood Treasure.

Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files was a breakout show in Syfy’s Thursday night block of reality programs this summer. Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files is a paranormal investigation television series produced by Base Productions that began airing July 15, 2010, on SyFy.

The show follows a team of investigators, led by former FBI agent Ben Hansen, who review various videos and pictures, of alleged paranormal activity. If a particular piece of evidence is deemed intriguing enough to warrant further investigation, they set out to recreate and explain the sighting.

Beside the team have Jael de Pardo (Destination Truth), Bill Murphy (Tech and Lead Scientist), Austin Porter (Stunt Expert), Chi-Lan Lieu (Photography Expert) and Larry Caughlan, Jr. (Effects Specialist).

The second season will start production in early 2011.

Hollywood Treasure launched in October as Syfy’s best new reality franchise premiere in six years.
