The Curse of the Monkey Man – Monday July 06 09:00 AM
Engrained in the history and mythology of India are tales of a ferocious creature, half-man, half-ape. It has been dubbed the monkey-man and headlines across the world have told of the vicious nocturnal attacks that occurred in India’s capital, New Delhi. The city’s population was gripped with fear of a violent creature described by eyewitnesses as having sharp claws, fangs and dark hair. After three people died and dozens were hospitalized fleeing the creature, 3,000 police officers were tasked with capturing the animal, but came up empty handed. Experts were divided over whether this was a case of mass panic or an unknown primate. Even today, witnesses in other parts of the country continue to report terrifying encounters with a similar beast. MonsterQuest launches an expedition and meets the victims of the monkey man, sees their scars first hand and searches for a connection to the most recent sightings.
Isle of the Lost Tiger – Monday July 06 10:00 AM
A remote island off the coast of Australia was once home to a real monster with vampire-like tendencies. The Tasmanian Tiger, which was known for its massive jaws and sharp incisors, stalked livestock and terrified the human inhabitants of the island before a bounty brought about the Tiger’s extinction almost eighty years ago. But if the eyewitness stories and scientific breakthroughs are correct, this creature may be on the verge of making a comeback. Across Tasmania there have been over 350 sightings of this monster, including reports from experienced biologists and outdoorsmen. Meanwhile, in an Australian laboratory, one scientist is using a preserved strand of DNA in an attempt to resurrect the tiger. Now, the MonsterQuest science and expedition teams will seek to find the ultimate proof that the Tasmanian Tiger could be alive and stalking the subtropical forests of this distant island.
Flying Monsters – Monday July 06 11:00 AM
If there is one place on earth that could be home to a prehistoric flying monster, it is Papua New Guinea. These islands to the north of Australia are the closest thing to a real “lost world” and eyewitnesses here claim that a terrifying monster is circling above them. Natives call this creature the “Demon Flyer,” but its twenty-foot wingspan, gray leathery skin and crested head appear to be only one thing–a living pterosaurs. Ancient sea charts made by early explorers in the sixteenth century show that they saw pterosaur-like animals and warned mariners of these legendary monsters. Paleontologists, however, are doubtful and suggest that a more likely explanation is a yet to be discovered species of giant bat. Whichever theory is correct there is something here that has reportedly killed locals and may have been caught on tape by a western witness.
Killer Jellyfish – Monday July 06 12:00 PM
The most venomous creature of the sea is on the move and spreading across the oceans leaving a trail of baffled scientists and poisoned victims. These gelatinous monsters, which have been known to kill within three minutes, have been part of the ocean’s ecosystem for more than 500 million years. However, changes to the seas and global warming may mean that mankind himself is creating this population explosion. Blooms of these floating death traps have been reported from New York’s Hudson River to the beaches of Spain and have even shut down a nuclear power station in Japan. While little is known about many jellyfish species, new research is unraveling some frightening details: these creatures are not simply drifting blobs, but have an intelligence that proves that they are an apex predator of the sea.

New Paranormal Series comes to SyFy Channel on Thursdays
Now two new paranormal series will kick off the new block of programming: “Mary Knows Best” and “Paranormal Investigators” (both are working titles), beginning on Thursday, July 15, it was announced Tuesday.
“Paranormal Investigators” searches for the truth behind supernatural and unexplained occurrences that have been caught on tape. In each episode, the six-person team, led by former FBI special agent Ben Hansen, searches for the most intriguing and unusual images, videos and unnatural phenomena found online and around the world.
Selecting the most intriguing images, the team heads into the field attempting to re-create the video, carrying out key experiments and searching for clues and evidence to answer the question: Is it real?
It is produced by Base Productions and premieres at 10 p.m.
“Mary Knows Best” is presented in a documentary-soap format with the predominant theme of the show revolving around the relationship between psychic intuitive Mary Occhino and her three children, who have each inherited Occhino’s psychic abilities in noticeably different ways.
Occhino is not only a renowned psychic intuitive but she is also a radio host and a mother of three young children.
Occhino considers one of her children to be a paranormal investigator, another to be a reluctant psychic and the other to be a skeptic.
The relationship that she holds with her children is diverse and unique due to the fact that they have all inherited her abilities to a certain extent but they have each inherited her abilities in entire different ways.

Preview: MonsterQuest Season 4 in January 13th
In a Cryptomundo Exclusive, here is breaking news about what is in store for Season IV on the extremely popular program, “MonsterQuest,” on History, from Executive Producer Doug Hajicek and Senior Producer Will Yates.
The season kicks off with a very special two hour season premiere on Wednesday January 13th 2010 at 9pm eastern (8pm CST).
This fourth season is one of their most exciting to date, they report, and has more encounters with monstrous creatures than ever before. From deadly and giant great white sharks that the team encounter up close to a mystery beast whose howls are recorded on tape just moments before it attacks a MQ crew, this year will be a rollercoaster ride, they tell me.
Here is an exclusive overview of the first five programs.
JAWS: THE SILENT KILLER
Great white sharks are the ocean’s deadliest killers and as they swim closer to our beaches, attacks against humans are on the rise. MonsterQuest leads an expedition to tag the first great white in the Atlantic and divers attach a camera to a live great white shark to examine why these monsters are becoming more aggressive predators.
HILLBILLY BEAST
Legends of a terrifying monster lurking in the back hills of Kentucky date back to the days of frontiersman Daniel Boone, but encounters with this mystery beast are increasing. Witnesses report alleged attacks by the creature and the sounds of ferocious screams from the wilderness. New photographic evidence may hold the key to uncovering the mystery. The MonsterQuest team goes on location to analyze the evidence, and heads deep into the dark forests, where they have their own frightening encounter.
GIANT KILLER BEES
More than 50 years ago, South American scientists attempted to cross-breed bees that would produce more honey than ever before possible. But instead, they created a monster. Today, these giant bees are on the loose, spreading northward and invading US cities. MonsterQuest examines how these killer bees attack with an unseen ferocity and discovers that the bees may be adapting to colder temperatures, making them an even greater threat.
MOTHMAN
In 1967, a giant winged monster reportedly terrorized the skies over a small town in West Virginia, ending in a tragic bridge collapse that claimed forty-six lives. Since then, the Mothman, as the beast was known, has become an omen of doom and death. With new sightings across America today, this creature may be returning. In a search for answers, MonsterQuest will use night time surveillance, perception tests and forensic sketching to determine if the beast is myth or frightening reality.
GIANT PYTHONS IN AMERICA
A deadly, slithering menace is taking over Florida and may be heading north. For more than 100 years, giant pythons have been discovered in parts of the Sunshine State, but since Hurricane Andrew in 1992, their territory has rapidly spread. Now, MonsterQuest searches for incursions in the outskirts of Miami, a population hotspot that is just moments from schools and homes. The team investigates whether pythons could hybridize and adapt, enabling them to threaten every state in the US.
