England to ban Chinese lanterns

England to ban Chinese lanternsChinese lanterns have been mistaken for distress flares at sea, vilified by farmers and they even sparked a flurry of ‘UFO sightings’ across Mid Sussex last summer.

Now, a European politician wants the flaming party toys banned.

Sharon Bowles, Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament for the South East of England says the wire built sky lanterns could cause injury or death to livestock.

Note: But in Brazil and South america this hot air balloons can be made from 6 feet (2 meters) to over 210 feet (72m)!!! This Giant sky lanterns also caring fireworks (common at night) and in some cases a huge flag of 6′-30′ (used during the daytime).

Only in 2009 in Rio de Janeiro 21 people were arrested releasing this balloons, in Brazil it is against the law, create, release and carry this type of balloons. A lot of UFO’s sightings can be explained with that.
