Sci Fi’s Ghost Hunters® Visit Cincinnati to Sign Chilling Tales from the Porcelain Seat

The Sci Fi channel celebrities and stars of the hit show, Ghost Hunters, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, will be in Cincinnati on August 7, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Barnes and Noble at Newport on the Levee. The book, Chilling Tales from the Porcelain Seat is a vignette-style
bathroom reader, and features commentary by the Ghost Hunters and experts from Cincinnati-based Roto-Rooter. Hawes and Wilson also happen to be real-life Roto-Rooter plumbers by day and paranormal investigators by night.

“We’re proud to be part of such a unique and humorous bathroom reader. Fan-submitted stories and disastrous plumbing experiences create a what-not-to-do guide and the experts at Roto-Rooter give advice along the way,” Sci Fi Channel’s Ghost Hunter Jason Hawes said. “Chilling Tales from the Porcelain Seat combines practical plumbing advice, DIY horror stories, plumbing jokes and humorous anecdotes.”

Several Cincinnati fans submitted stories that are published in the book with submissions from across the country. Some stories mention items lost, stuck or lodged in places where they shouldn’t be including a prosthetic eye, dentures and a family pet.

“Some of the stories we received for the book were so outlandish it was impossible to think that anyone could have made them up,” Roto-Rooter public relations manager Paul Abrams said. “The book also includes facts that Roto-Rooter has collected over the years about the many types of items we find in pipes and toilets during receive service calls.”

The book launch and signing event will feature an autographed toilet that was photographed for the cover of the book. The Ghost Hunters as well as cover model and Cincinnati native Brittany Everitt will be present to greet fans and sign copies of the book, which is available for purchase at the event and online at www.RotoRooter.com. The book signing at Barnes and Noble will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009 and end promptly at 6:00 p.m.
